Lamp holder and sensor parts
Screw shells, contact clips and spring contacts for lamp holders, lamp bases and sensors — the small brass that has to hold a bulb or a switch contact in place for years, and often has to be riveted to a lead wire before it can be assembled at all.
What goes in
The brass in a lamp holder or a sensor
These parts look simple and are not: the same piece usually has to conduct, hold spring pressure and accept a rivet or a crimp in one small pressing.
Lamp holder contacts
- Screw-shell contact pieces for E27, E14 and similar bases
- Centre contacts and the spring that presses them onto the bulb
- Shell-to-body clips and retaining ears
Switch and sensor contacts
- Contact springs for rocker and push switches
- Conductive spring strips for sensors and detectors
- Phosphor bronze where the contact has to keep its tension
Crimped lead-wire terminals
- Terminals riveted or crimped to a lead wire, supplied assembled
- Wire gauge and insulation strip length agreed to your drawing
- Pull-test and the finished length reported per batch
Why it is not trivial
Spring temper, plating and the second operation
Three things decide whether a lamp or sensor contact survives its warranty period, and none of them is visible in a photograph of the finished part.
- Temper. A contact that has to press on a bulb or a switch has to be made from the right grade in the right temper — H62 is easy to form but takes a set, phosphor bronze holds its spring.
- Plating and contact resistance. Nickel for wear, tin for solderable joints. On a low-current sensor contact, the plating is often what stands between a working unit and an intermittent one.
- The second operation. Many of these parts are not finished at the press: they are formed, riveted to a wire or bent after stamping. That is a separate die and a separate inspection step, and we quote it as part of the part.
Also in the range
The other two lines
- Smart socket parts — contacts, relay terminals and busbars for sockets and plugs with a module inside
- Power strip accessories — clips, busbars and pins with the plastic housing, hardware and cable
- All six families of brass parts — terminals, inserts, grounding, connection plates, pins and bushes, and custom work
Materials, thickness and tolerance are quoted per part. Send the drawing and we will confirm the strip thickness, which dimensions we will measure and report, and the plating arrangement.
